Bird Attracting - Black Cockatoos

There are a wide range of native options shown below that will provide attractive food for White Tailed Black Cockatoos (Carnaby’s Cockatoo – Calyptorhynchus latirostris) as well as Red Tailed Black Cockatoos.

If these don’t fit your garden style, design or situation, then there are also some nut trees you can grow that will appeal to them.

Almonds – try for self-fertile varieties
Macadamia – these are usually grafted to ensure early and large crops. This is one of the favourites with our cockies
Pecan – the fastest growing of all and loves the cooler southwest. Wonderful shade tree, deciduous so you get winter light and huge crops that you can enjoy as well as your cockies. These are grafted to ensure true to type.
